PersoNum searches all layers of all document pages of the current Calamus document for normal text frames. In these text frames, PersoNum searches for certain placeholder texts, which will be replaced on output in certain ways.
If you want some text frames to be ignored, you will have to group them or to move them to a master page. So maybe you simply group single text frames to let PersoNum ignore them. Or you can change their frame type from normal text frames to footnote text frames or index text frames, if possible.
The document can have any number of pages and layers. Page formats and other attributes do not affect PersoNum. It is only important that PersoNum fan find text frames with placeholders in order to automatically replace the placeholder texts as you want to.
Hint: The numbering machines give better results if the relevant text frames are not piped.
