If this switch is turned on, every change to the picture is recorded step by step. This recording is lost if another tool is loaded or the Paint module is quit, otherwise recording continues. Naturally this increases the required storage space, so the recording can be deleted manually by switching this option off and back on again (for example with a macro key).
