Ambiguity over what a pixel actually is sometimes arise. Strictly speaking, it is the smallest element in a raster graphic, so is the smallest changeable point. In practice there is room for confusion, because the same term is used when speaking of both pictures and screen display.
This manual attempts to seperate the two concepts by using the terms picture pixels and screen pixels.
