If this icon is inverted, you have selected a text object within the vector frame, or you have selected the icon itself. This then allows you to call the text object functions in the second group of commands.
These functions can produce texts in LineArt. This is not normally the task of a vector editor, but LineArt can arrange text objects completely differently to text written in the normal Calamus Text frame. These functions make text run along paths (wave text, circle text etc.), and the individual functions select the manner in which the text aligns with the path.
The writing of vector text objects takes longer than writing text within text frames, since many calculations are needed for them.
In the description of each function you will find hints on how you can produce the text objects more rapidly.
